Fun, relaxed place.

First, let me say that I didn't stay in any of the rooms or go into any to check them out. We only stayed on the first floor and hang by the bar and jacuzzi. It is $50 pesos to get in and you get a free drink with that. The open area is very fun and clean. The pool is beautiful and located right next to the bar. The bar boys are super cute. The large jacuzzi is in the back next to a fun hallway of showers. There is an upper deck for sunbathing (etc.) and a backroom area. Although sex was definately going on back there and men were cruising, my friend and I just went in to check the place out and had a fun conversation with some guys just hanging out by the bar. This was a gay resort at it's best- a place that one can cruise or just hangout comfortably. If sex or cruising makes you feel weird, skip this place (well, skip PVR altogether), otherwise, check it out and have some fun.

A very clean and fun place

I'm not sure why some of the reviews here are somewhat negative. I guess those guys couldn't find anyone to play with, LOL. Anyway, let me clarify what Vallarta Cora IS, and what it ISN'T. First of all, it is sex-intensive. This means, it is a hotel, you can take your guests there (they do have to leave an ID with management) and there is lots of action around the hot tub, pool and back deck from about 5pm onward. Second, it is not a raucous evil nasty place (as some might describe it). Usually the music is at a very manageable level, is mostly Mexican music, and ends promptly at midnight. Next, it is a place where you can be yourself, regardless of body type, age, etc., Having said that, most of the hotel guests are in 30s 40s and 50s, but some 20s and 60s as well on occasion. Locals come to visit, hang out at the bar, swim naked, go in the hot tub or the maze in the back. I met many very nice guys during my previous three visits to Vallarta Cora. What the place is NOT, is intolerant. Everyone (male) is welcome to come and have a good time. And if you are staying in the hotel, no, people do not leave their doors open (unless they want to.) If this were not a gay male place, you couldn't distinguish it from any other hotel property in the Zona Romantica. It is a bit old, but very well maintained, most (or all, by now) of the rooms are getting all new furniture. You have apartment-like rooms, and can stock your refrigerator with liquor, beer, food, etc. The air conditioning is awesome. Comes in very handy in the steamy hot Mexican summers. Nudity is cool. A very open and accepting place. The owner, Mario, from Canada, is pleasant to you if you behave and don't try to act like an ass or get too drunk and then risk having an accident. Just go and have a good time. And yes, the waiters are smoking hot, trust me.

The Best Place to Stay in PV

I have been going to PV for 8 years and I have never stayed anywhere other than the Cora. I stay there for the rooms! They are huge. You have a kitchenette, Living/dining room, bedroom, a bath and a half, a small balcony and a washroom. The bathroom has a large walk in shower. If you are lucky enough to get the top floor, the rooms have vaulted ceilings. There is a bar downstairs and it closes at midnight, so usually it is very quiet after that (except perhaps holidays). The Bar is very laid back; there is a heated pool, jacuzzi, steam room, dark room video room and bar area. I have met many very nice guys there. You can partake at whatever level you like. Mario, the owner is always very charming and vivacious, as is all of the staff.

Back patio is like a very scary outside bathhouse without the cute guys. Guess they don't really care if they attract a better class of clientele.
