Playa Los Muertos

*The* PV spot to hang out in blue
The gay beach is at the south end of the Playa Los Muertos and is usually referred to as the "blue chairs" for the seating put out by the gay resort of the same name. This spot has been a gay beach for over two decades. In recent years it has expanded to the green chair area right next door. Both resorts provide food and services and you'll hear people debating which part of the beach is better. Check it out, relax and enjoy the sun. Some might even chose to enjoy the company of friendly young locals who offer their guidance, often for nothing more than a nice meal on the town and/or a "tip."

      Hates it

Great place if you enjoy sitting on a beach surrounded by fellow gays drinking and having a laugh. But if you want to play in the ocean or swim, forget it: dangerous undertow, and typical grey / brown unappealing coloured Pacific ocean here. Travel to another beach where the waters are somewhat protected, or even just walk down the beach, south, and find a safer place to enter the water.

Do we really need a disco beach?!? Please reconsider the music! We can bring our own private music in 2017!

      Ritmos great beach destination
There are three areas in the gay beach area. Blue chairs, Green chairs (Ritmos) and Almar Resort (new to the beach). I like the Green chairs not as crowded. Bigger plapas (shaded areas) good food and service. Blue chairs is generally a younger crowd and more congested. Almar is new to the beach this season. It will be a step up from the other venues. Hope it makes it.

Green Chairs / Blue Chairs / Lido
All good options. I prefer the Green Chairs and food better. The Blue Chairs are very confined area. However, it's all good.. oxoxoxo I be there end of this year..

      one of the great beaches
Actually there are now 3 parts to the gay beach on Los Muertos, including the traditional Blue chairs which is quite active Noon until around 4-5pm or so, the Green chairs next door to that to the south - though the service at both places is good - the Green chairs has more space between the palapas too. then the 3rd location is at Lido beach club run by Michel who also has Michel's trattoria on Olas Altas street, Lido tends to be more upscale than the other two. One of the 4 photos above of Los Muertos of the gay beach is actually from which has many excellent photos of the area and some hot and friendly guys too. I prefer the Green chairs for the quality of the food, though the music there is sometimes a bit loud so people do tend to sit closer to the water...Lido is definitely quieter.

Cruisy Gay Beach Worth a Visit
A charming beach to spend the afternoon on. They don't charge to sit in the chairs, you just order something. The prices were not as high as I expected. Handsome business boys approached me. Since I was with someone, it was not difficult to shake off any I didn't want. I went for a little stroll on the beach and a sexy lifeguard made it clear he was available. Never found out his rates.

great beach, avoid the Blue Chairs
Loved the beach! We met lots of guys from all over, encountered no attitude. We did NOT like Blue Chairs it's really stupid. Way too crowded chairs like sardines and verrry uncomfortable! Just find a nice spot on the sand or try Green Chairs.

One of the best gay spots on the planet!
Chairs and tables under palapas and umbrellas. Fun friendly waiters. Great food and cocktails. Warm wild waves. Beautiful sunshine, beautiful boys. Nice friendly people. What more could you ask for? Oh yeah, tons of packed speedos! The vendors can get annoying at times, but if you politely say no and shake your head no, they move on.

We've gone every year for the last four years for 10 nights. It's what gets us through the rest of the year in Indiana.

      Good times!
My partner and I went to PV for the first time many years ago. We stayed at the Tropicana and having heard that there a gay area of the beach, set out to find it. Little did we know how close it was to our hotel! The gossiping gringos can be tedious at times but the hot locals make up for it.
