This gay-friendly condo complex is just up the steps from the Blue Chairs Beach and is much more affordable than the Blue Chairs Hotel. The large pool area provides a nice break from the noise down on the beach and the staff treats everyone like family. The condos all have full kitchens and balconies with great views of the ocean. They range from very basic to nicely decorated, depending on who owns them. Floors 1-4 are the most quiet; higher-up than that you may get some traffic noise from the street above. It's an easy walk to the gay clubs, bars and restaurants.

Having rented condo 701 at the Torre Malibu for two months at $6000.00 Canadian dollars per month, the unit was sadly lacking in many areas. Disappointment would be an understatement. Remote for TV in living room was missing and no interest by management to remedy the situationfairly minor as we really were not interested in watching TV, but read on. Wireless internet connection weak, unreliable and sporadic. The first few weeks of our stay the elevator was constantly out of service. Tired Plastic Patio furniture, including an unstable 3 legged table which was impractical and unusable. Ceiling light fixtures were either missing bulbs or had exposed 40 watt industrial bulbs without shades. Kitchen was a disaster from missing utensils to an old rusted temperamental toaster, no kettle or teapot to boil water, pots and pans old and rusted, coffee mugs cracked and stained... minimum wine glasses available, dish cloths were nothing more than old frayed stained bath towels that had been cut up. Living room foam bed mattress old and needs replacement. Fittings and fixtures in general are tired, old and the place needs a major overhaul especially for the rent being charged. Security doors were locked at 5:00 pm and no way for guests to contact you or to enter building without you previously agreeing to meet them at the door. The view was great, however 100+ steps from the beach to the building, another 50 steps from the building to the elevator. Bedrooms back on to the highway so the noise level was quite noticeable in the late evening and early morning hours....bring earplugs. In general to be fair, other suites in the building have been updated but sadly suite 701 is not one of them and I would suggest for the rent they are charging to give suite 701 a miss in its present condition.

the rooms here are basic and can be hit and miss depending on which one you get. and often times for the money you can do better. the best thing to say about this place is it has a beautiful swimming pool, though not heated, and it's located just up the hill from the blue chairs
