Paco Ojeda On Music presents ‘Little Shop Of Horrors’. Paco Ojeda On Music presents ‘Little Shop Of Horrors’. After a successful presentation on Great Vocalists of the 20th Century, local cultural promoter Paco Ojeda returns to Incanto on Wednesday, September 6, 4 - 6 pm, with an insightful lecture on the horror comedy rock musical Little Shop of Horrors, by composer Alan Menken and writer Howard Ashman about a nerdy florist shop worker who raises a plant that feeds on human blood and flesh.
During his lecture, Paco will offer an overview of how the musical was originally conceived, the 70s music styles that shaped its score, and all the cultural references that makes this one of the most unique and entertaining shows ever.
The following day at the same time (Thursday, September 7, 4 - 6 pm), Paco will host the screening of the film Little Shop of Horrors, an adaptation of the musical, directed by Frank Oz in 1986. Early screenings of the film prior to its release revealed that the original, not-so-happy ending was rejected by audiences, so the ending was re-shot. The film was re-mastered recently and the screening at Incanto will feature the original ending sequence that Frank Oz directed for the film. “We are excited to present a new re-mastered version of the film, which includes the original not-so-happy ending from the show,” commented Paco.
Tickets for the September 6 lecture are $200 and $250 preferred seating, available now at Incanto’s box office or online at incantovallarta.com. Tickets for the September 7 screening are also available at 50 pesos (donation) per person.
